Change Is Good, Right?

I sure hope so, because there are some big changes afoot at my little table in the blogateria!
For starters, I had a little idea. Yup. I did. Then I took that little idea to my sewing machine and it grew into a little project that became, well, a Something.
I really liked this Something and I thought maybe the other kids would like it too. So, I sent some pictures of the Something to THAT fabric manufacturer that has THAT blog that shows us all super cute things we can make with pre-cuts.
Guess what? They liked my Something too and they want me to write a tutorial for THAT blog.
When I got the word, after my initial squee of delight. I sort of panicked. It went something like this:
Photobucket
WEEEEEEEE! I'm gonna get a bunch of
people coming by here!!!

Then it almost instantly turned into this:
"OHHHHH expletive deleted, I'm gonna
get a bunch of people coming by here, and
the place is a mess!

So, I did what I do best. I hired an expert! I sent out an SOS on Twitter and quickly was referred to graphic designer extraordinaire, Lisa Nelson, who designed my new header and some cute buttons for me. It is still a work in progress, but I think it has really spruced the joint up nicely, don't you? Her prices are really reasonable too, I think, so if you are looking for a spruce up give her a tap on the shoulder!

The other big change that is now less than a week away is Sewing Summit!
When I was reading all the blog posts about last year's S.S., I never dreamed that I would ever go. But when it came around this year, and I hesitantly mentioned to Mr. Wonderful how much fun it sounded like and that maybe it would be a good way to explore possible business opportunities for me and all these bits and bobs I keep sewing up, he said I should go! He didn't have to tell me twice, that's for sure. I was all signed up with my hotel reservation and everything the very next day!
That was months and months ago, and I really can't believe that a week from today, I'll be on my way to Salt Lake City! (From the bottom of my heart, THANKS Mr. Wonderful!)

Aside from all the great classes we are taking while there, several people have arranged for all kinds of fun swaps and such. I am going to participate in a Fat Quarter swap and a zipper pouch swap. Here is the Ipad pouch that I finished up yesterday. I hope it finds a happy home!

There isn't a pillow swap at Sewing Summit, but I made this pillow from a couple of the designs in Aneela Hoey's book, Little Stitches. I kind of love it, and wanted to show it to you!

Anyway, I'll tell you all about it when I get back!

In other news, here are some pictures I took at the Cleveland Botanical Garden when I visited with my Mother In-law, Sister In-law and Grandma Eier, the youngest 90-something year old I know!

Cheers!
Mary
